Session Info

How do the photo sessions work?

Sessions are conducted at my home-away-from-home Portrait Studio located just off Rea Road 6 miles south of Stonecrest Mall.  My studio is designed with your comfort in mind and I only offer sessions by appointment only so you are ensure an uninterrupted and relaxing experience.  There is a fitted baby changing table with diapers and wet wipes, toys for kids as well as refreshments and snacks to keep you energized.  During the session we will take several different poses that offer a selection for you to choose your favorites to order.

How long will the session last?

The session should last up to two hours with 2 changes of clothing (depending on the session package you have chosen).  Ideally children perform their best within the first 20 minutes so the least amount of distractions the better.  If you would prefer that favorite toys or food not be included in the portraits, please leave them in the car.

What should I do with my hair and make-up?

Arrive with cleanly washed hair preferably with a little mousse or gel applied to tame the fly away hairs.  Large hair bows or barrettes prove too distracting in portraits however smaller  Make sure the whole family have clean faces, hands, feet and nails as they will appear in the portraits.

A note for Mom:  Make-up makes a huge difference to the final look of your portrait, apply a little heavier make-up than you usually would as the photographic lights will wash out your complexion with lightly applied make-up.  A color matching foundation (not too heavy though) with bronzer or blusher applied to your cheek bones, and darker than usual mascara and eye liner will make your eyes stand out.  Lip gloss or natural looking lipstick looks far better than bright reds or heavier tones.

What types of clothing should I bring to wear?

Simplicity is key for choosing outfits and we advise avoiding anything with distracting patterns, lines, stripes and wording.  Try avoid branded shirts that will date in the years to come.  Jeans or dark colored pants with a plain solid colored shirt always works best, and incorporating color matching looks great too.

 What about blemishes and marks?

As a full service studio we carefully and artistically retouch every single portrait we create to ensure you look your absolute best.  All marks, red blotches and blemishes will be removed to give your skin a soft and delicate glow.

What happens after the session, when will I get to see my portraits?

One week after the photo session you are invited back to the studio for your Unveiling Appointment where I will display the non-edited raw images on a projector for us to narrow down your favorites.  Please allow an additional 1-2 hours for this ordering appointment.  Only the images that you order will be fully re-touched and artistically printed for a fine art effect, and all images not ordered are discarded due to the limits of storage space.  Therefore it is advisable that everyone who is necessary to help make your buying decisions accompanies you to your Unveiling Appointment.  Payment for your order is required on the day of your ordering appointment and I accept visa, mastercard, and check payments.  Depending on the value of your order, there is an interest free installment payment option available (details will be explained to you at the appointment).

My Products & Services…

All my products are offered on an A La Carte basis and they include gallery wrap canvases, customized photographic mounted and framed wall portraits, canvas and framed wall portraits, DVD slideshows, baby builder albums, and gift portraits etc.  I’m sure we will have something you would love to add to your family memories and your minimum investment would be $100 for a fine art black and white gift portrait.  My studio is a full service studio which means every product you invest in is created ready for your enjoyment and your larger wall portraits are delivered framed or finished and ready to hang.  I have a selection of frame samples available for you to pick from and I’m sure we will find some suitable to your tastes.

 Confirming your session date…

All that is required to reserve your preferred time slot is the payment of your non-refundable session fee.  This covers artistic time and talent and does not count toward your portrait order.  We accept card details over the phone for this payment and a receipt will be provided at the Unveiling appointment.  We allow up to two changes in dates for a photo session and thereafter the session fee is forfeited.  This is due to the fact that the session cannot be filled at the last minute due to non-attendance.

What if I fall ill and cannot make my session time?

I fully understand the need to re-schedule your appointment in the instance of illness, and I will be happy to work with you on finding an alternative date.  Please do give a minimum of 24 hours notice should this occur so we can plan accordingly.  We allow up to 2 changes in your session date and thereafter your session fee is forfeited.

We look forward to sharing in your family memories and creating your treasured Designer Heirloom Art!
